Here we’ve tried to answer all the questions we regularly are asked from people who are thinking about having a home here at Hackings. We can help you with practical advice about the site location, access and even the spec of your caravan.

We’re happy to recommend 3 static caravan manufacturers that we’ve worked with for many years, they are Westfield Caravans, New Statics For Sale and Lakes, Coast and Dale.

Choosing a holiday home at Hackings

Can we rent a home for a few weeks?

Unfortunately we’re not a touring site, all our homes are privately owned and not available to rent.

Can we use our holiday home at Hackings for 12 months of the year?

The park is open 337 days (11 months) and closed for 28 days on the second Saturday in January.

Do you have any holiday homes for sale?

We have show Holiday Homes from Lakes, Coast and Dales which are available to view by appointment. All Holiday homes are owner occupied and purchased, and occasionally we may have pre-loved holiday home available.

Can I move my holiday home to a different park?

Yes sure, there will be de-siting costs incurred

What if I need to sell my holiday home?

Please inform the office and we will either make you an offer or recommend a dealership who will arrange removal of your holiday home from the Park.

Our community

How do I get to meet other people at Hackings?

There’s always something going on at Hackings, whether its a coffee and cake morning, seasonal wreath making, or learning about our bee hives and a great way to meet everyone. We also have great spots in the butterfly garden, woodland walk, in the band stand or down near the river to sit and chat.

Is there a notice board for the park?

The notice boards are situated in the laundry room and post room and kept up to date with park news, events and other useful day to day information.

Utilities

Can I have my online shopping (tescos, morrisons etc) delivered to my home?

Yes! You can meet your delivery driver in the yard area only (Delivery Drivers have no access to the Park).

How do I order gas for my home?

We supply gas bottles to your home. Simply complete a gas order envelope available in the Reception Porch area, post the envelope through the internal post box in Porch area, and we will deliver direct to your home. Payment can be made by either by BACS, Cheque or cash.

How do I pay for electric?

Twice a year March and October your electric meter will be read by us and you will be invoiced accordingly.

Do I pay council tax?

No.  Unless you are one of the 60 pitches registered here with Ribble Valley Borough Council.

How do I pay for my water supply?

Your water supply, and drainage costs are included in your pitch fees.

Post, deliveries & laundry

How do I get my post and other deliveries?

For those customers who are registered here with Ribble Valley Borough Council, we have a secure post room accessed using a fob and where all post and deliveries can be collected from. However, during our 28 day closed period, the office isn’t manned 24 hours so we cannot accept parcel deliveries from couriers.

How much does the laundry facilities cost?

We have 2 front loader washing machines and 2 tumble dryers which are coin operated. There’s also a hand wash sink and an iron and ironing board are available on request from the office.

Refuse & recycling

Where do I empty my bins?

We have refuse and recycling bins opposite reception, and further recycling and composting bins near the entrance to the woodland walk.

How do I recycle?

As part of our Green Policy recycling is high on our agenda. You’ll therefore find lots of opportunities to recycle as much as possible of your waste and refuse here in the park.

Internet, Sky & TV

Can I get internet access?

Customers can arrange their own internet, we recommend ‘Wave’ and we also have fibre available throughout the Park.

Do I need a TV licence?

Yes

Can I have Sky TV?

Yes. We recommend our installer who understands the park and where to place the dishes and boxes to minimise impact on other park users.

Pets & wildlife

Can I feed the birds?

We ask that all home owners use off the ground feeding only and any spillage we ask is cleared away so as not to attract rodents.

Are dogs welcome?

Yes of course, Hackings is a great place for dogs with amazing walks and countryside and we welcome their well behaved owners too. There are numerous poo bins and bags provided and we ask that dogs remain on a lead and you follow the countryside code when you’re out and about.

Park maintenance

Who maintains the gardens around the park?

You’ll see our team keeping on top of hedge cutting, planting up flower beds, grass cutting and doing all the daily tasks keeping the park looking lovely.

Is there an annual service charge?

Our garden maintenance is included in our pitch fees.

Transport & visitors

Can I charge my electric car?

We  currently have one charging point for visitors use only and are looking into providing more charging points for our customers in the very near future.

Can I park my car next to my home?

A parking area is provided beside or near to each holiday home and there is grass surrounding each pitch for your enjoyment and personal use.

Can my family and friends visit me?

Yes as long as they sign in and out  at the Reception area; children can stay overnight  occasionally but are not to be schooled from here.

Security & opening hours

How secure is the access into the park?

Barrier fobs are issued to enable easy access for pick up and drop off of visitors with mobility difficulties.
